Today, my two friends Anna, Ronit ,I and our moms went to Caesaria. In Caesaria there are huge ruins from around 2000 years ago.
First we walked on a little path with old stone structures we could walk on.
Then we continued walking on the path, and we came to an old bath house. Here's me washing my hair.
The bath house also had really pretty mosaic floors.
We even saw people recovering more of the bath house.
Then we saw the beach, the waves were so big !
After that we saw were the chariot races had taken place. We saw that it was all flooded, so we didn't go in.
Then we went to the
Then we went to the Amphitheater. Here is a picture from the bottom of me and Anna at the top of the seets it is very tall!
The theater is still used in the summer time.
On the way back we saw some building with some ancient writing on it.
It was pretty fun!!
RAIZI:
ReplyDeleteToday, I read your blog (your post dated Feb. 21) describing the trip you made with your friends and moms to Caesaria. Looks like you had a great time -- it's a neat place.
Grandma Barb and I went there the first (of two) time(s) we visited Israel -- it was winter 1989 -- and were impressed with the ruins.
One of the nice things about visiting Israel is the many places you can go and in doing so connect with the long-ago past -- Caesaria is a perfect example of that.
I like the way you designed the blog around a mosaic pattern -- was that intentional, to match the mosaic floors you saw at the site?

Hi sweetie. I'm glad you scruched up your face when you were washing your hair in the Caesarea baths. Don't want to get soap in your eyes!

Hi Raizi, it looks like you're having fun! What is the temperature there? Here it is about 35 degrees.
